What is the VCS Mobile Money Card?
The VCS Mobile Money Card is an ATM card (Automated Teller Machine). It carries the Maestro, Cirrus and Virtual Money logos. Each VCS Mobile Money Card comes with a unique PIN (Personal Identification Number). The card can be used at over 800,000 ATM machines around the world that display the Cirrus/Maestro logo. You can also use your VCS Mobile Money Card to make purchases at millions of retail locations around the world.

How much is my line of Credit with the VCS Mobile Money Card?
We do not provide a line of credit. The VCS Mobile Money Card provides you access to 100% of what you deposit. That means if you load $1,000 on your card, you can spend $1,000.

Why would you want a card that only lets you spend your own money?
The VCS Mobile Money Card is very different from most bank-sponsored ATM cards. The profile for the typical VCS Mobile Money Card customer is the following:

1. You find that you cannot get a bank account because...

a. You have had banking problems in the past and are now on the Chexsystems list. Over 40 million people are on this list, to which all banks subscribe.
b. You are one of the estimated 40 million US residents who are un-banked who do not have a proper US-based ID, Social Security Number, or no proof of legal US residency, so you cannot obtain a bank account.
c. You do not like banks, period. You are one of the many people who trust only cash.
d. You don’t want to pay bank fees.
e. You don’t have the minimum deposit required to open a bank account.

2. You want to stay on a budget.
Because you are using your own money, and can put into the VCS Mobile Money Card exactly what you wish, you can use the card to stay on budget, spending only the amount of money loaded onto the card. Unlike a credit card, you cannot get yourself in trouble by overdrawing your VCS Mobile Money Card account.

3. You may have filed for bankruptcy, and have a bad credit standing.
Consequently, you cannot obtain a bank-sponsored ATM card, but you do qualify for the VCS Mobile Money Card and the virtual bank account that accompanies the card.

4. You wish to have online access to your accounts.
You can review all your transactions and deposits on the Internet http://www.virtual-atm.com. Transfer funds between your card and other VCS Mobile Money Card. Transfer funds to any other bank located within the US. All you need is the routing number and account number.

5. You are spending too much money cashing your payroll checks, which is costing between 1% to 3% in fees.
You would like to be able to deposit these checks into your own ATM bank account, and conveniently draw the cash at the time and in the amounts that you need.

6. You are spending far too much money sending funds to relatives and friends via Western Union® and MoneyGram®; and this expensive service often takes days to deliver.
You can own more that one VCS Mobile Money Card! You can purchase additional cards to send to your relatives or friends. You can make inexpensive card-to–card transfers at any time you wish. Remember, your VCS Mobile Money Card can be used at most ATM machines located worldwide. When an additional card holder accesses funds from an ATM machine, they are distributed in that Countries currency. The currency exchange rate is completed by the card company which offers one of the best currency exchange rates in the World. There are 1 million ATM machines and over 5.5 million of merchants worldwide who accept the VCS Mobile Money Card.

How does the VCS Mobile Money Card work?

Of course. Your Card can be used at any ATM operated by the bank that issued your Card or by any ATM that displays any of the network brands on the back of your card. You'll need to enter your PIN number when prompted - your PIN either was delivered to you with your card or was mailed to you.

Are there any costs associated with using the Prepaid MasterCard Card?
There are fees associated with card usage or card funding. Please see the Cardholder Agreement.

I just received my Prepaid MasterCard Card in the mail. What do I do now?
You must activate your card once you receive it. Go to www.unibancard.com to activate and register your card. Complete instructions on how to do so are included with your card. However, there are no funds on your card until your employer submits your pay or until you add your own funds to your card. Generally, your pay funds should be available to you on the same day you used to receive your paycheck.

How will I know my Prepaid MasterCard Card balance?
There are several ways to keep on top of your card balance. The easiest way is document your deposits and withdrawals to calculate your balance. If you have Internet access you can visit (www.unibancard.com) and use your card number and Account Access Code to log into the site. Once you're on the site you can see your up-to-the minute card balance and view all transactions you've made. You can also call 1-888-9-UNIBANC 24-hours a day to hear your card balance and to hear your last 5 deposits or withdrawals. | Go to top

Can I add my own money to my Prepaid MasterCard Card?
You can add your own personal money to your active Card account by going to any Walgreens, CVC Pharmacy, Radio Shack, Food Lion, or other Green Dot locations close to you. For a complete list or the closest load location near you, call 1-888-9-UNIBANC.

What happens if I use up all of the money on my Prepaid MasterCard card?
If you use up all of the money on the card, you can always add more money to the card to continue using it until the expiration date. Otherwise, if you have used up all of the money on the card and it is expired, please destroy the card by cutting it up.

Will I get a monthly statement in the mail?
You can log on to the Card website (www.unibancard.com) anytime using your card number and Account Access Code and view your monthly statement or your entire transaction history. You can also call 1-888-9-UNIBANC and log into the automated voice response system to hear your last five transactions (withdrawals or deposits).

Can my Prepaid MasterCard Card ever carry a negative balance? No.

Will my employer be able to know what I buy or where I spend?
No. All transactions using the Card will be available only to the holder of the Card.

If I leave my current company, can I still use my card?
You can still use your card if you leave your current company, but you'll need to add your own funds to the card. You can transfer money from a bank checking or savings account by logging onto the website or by calling customer service.

How do I log into the Prepaid MasterCard Card website or into the automated phone system?
You’ll need your Card number and your 8 digit pass code you received with your card in order to log into the website.

How can I change my card account?
You can change card account information such as the billing address associated with your Card by calling customer service at 1-888-9-UNIBANC or login to www.unibancard.com.

When I view my transaction history, what does "pending" mean next to some of my purchases?
A notice of 'pending' next to a merchant's name on your statement means that while we have received notice from that merchant that you spent that amount at their store or web site the merchant hasn't yet sent through the final amount for payment. This notice, called an authorization, is done to make sure that your card is valid and to tell us to put on hold that money on your card until the merchant sends through the final transaction amount for payment. When we receive that final notification (usually within 3 days of the purchase) the transaction is considered 'settled' or 'posted,' and the amount of that transaction is taken off of your card. Go to top

Why is the amount shown as 'pending' different than the amount I actually spent at that merchant?
In some cases, like at a restaurant, the merchant will send us request for authorization (see above) for only the amount of the food you purchased (since you won't have yet written in a tip). In that case, we'll place on hold the amount the restaurant sends us, plus an additional 20% in case you write in a tip. While the money is on hold, it isn't taken off of your card until we get the FINAL, correct amount from the restaurant. Another case where the amount you spent may look different from the pending amount from a merchant is in the case of a gas station. If you're paying for gas at the pump, the machine will send through a preliminary authorization just to make sure your card is valid, and we'll place on hold $20 to cover the potential cost of filling up your tank. Again, this is just a hold on the money until we receive the final amount you spent on gas. Once this transaction settles, you'll see the correct amount reflected in your statement.

Why is there an unfamiliar merchant name listed on my statement? I don't remember shopping there.
There are several reasons why this might happen. Some stores are part of a larger corporation that may have a different name than the store name.

What should I do if my Prepaid MasterCard Card gets lost or stolen?
You must call the customer service number 1-888-9-UNIBANC or log on to www.unibancard.com to report the card lost/stolen.
